A couple weeks ago my friends and I went into the city for World Peace Day. The day before we had made a Peace Dove out of bed sheets from the Stony Brook Hospital, chicken wire, and bamboo sticks. We went into the and we paraded the dove with other doves around a park and then while we were parading Jane Goodall. It was awesome. After we paraded the doves we went to a college a we got to here her speak. It was so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recycled Craft Fair Update
For the recycled craft fair me and my friends have been making lots of cool stuff. like a few weeks ago we worked on some clips with puzzle pieces glued to the ends of them. and a few days ago we were making jean purses. we get old jeans and cut them till their right under the pockets then sew the bottom and but a handle on them. they look good and they work pretty well.

Old Mill Creek Clean Up

I think we should clean the local Port Jefferson creek leading to the ocean because it is REALLY
disgusting. My friend and I found an old street sign that looks like it could be from like, 1899!!! I really think that we should use clam digger pants and gloves to clean out the garbage and weeds and bottles. I think it would not only look better, but smell better too ya know? The air would definitely be less polluted and the water would be too. So I think we should have a healthy harbor day to help the L.I.S. Plus water testing is next Friday!!!

Welcome!
Welcome to our new blog. Based out of the Port Jefferson Free Library's Young Adult Center, this blog is run by environmentally-conscious teens who want to make a difference in their communities and worlds. Follow along as we learn and teach about issues that can change the way we live. Our posts will be varied; some will be written directly by our members who want to share their personal experiences, and others will be accounts of our programs. Post comments! We love new ideas and suggestions, as well as the encouragement that your readership will create.
